Warforged Arcane Caster Woes

the 'Battle Sorcerer' sorcerer substitution class from Unearthed arcana would work for you.

You'd have to be a sorcerer, but you'd have (among other things) a cleric HD and BAB, and the ability to ignore spell failure from light armor. (hint: invest in the mithril body feat)
You lose a spell per day, which isn't so bad for a sorcerer who has tons of them. you also get one less spell known per spell level, which is rather terrible but can be worked around.

Depending on what kind of arcane caster your looking for. Warmage would probably be your best option. You won't have access to any utilitarian spells, but if its just a one time dungeon crawl then who cares.

Option: I think Complete Arcane has something where you can substitute the Arcane learning ability with Ecclectic Learning. It basically allows you to learn a new spell normally not available to the Warmage. The spell still has to be on the sorcerer/ wizard spell list but it does not have to be an Evocation spell. There is more info you should know, but you can read through the ability.

Not to argue with the OP, I know he doesn't want to take Unarmored Body, but I'm just not sure why. You're only giving up a +2 Armor Bonus that wouldn't have stacked with Mage Armor anyway.

Wu-jen don't get mage armor. Turns out to be a pretty big omission at lower levels... This made the Wu-jen in the game I'm running very unhappy :-(

Spellsword (CW) is a good way to go. Apart from that, you can memorize lots of true strikes, and carry around wands. I don't have the warforged writeup handy, but you should be able to take Mithril Body, one level of Fighter, a few levels of Wizard, then one level of Spellsword to cancel out your ASF.
