I agree with Flip. Rolling a 20 on a save ends the dying condition, so dying is an effect a save can end. Font of life might let your warforged get up before his turn.

A 20 on a save while you're dying lets you spend a healing surge (if you have one), it doesn't end the condition per se.

Actually, rolling a 20 brings you to 0 hit points and allows you to spend a healing surge. So it does end the effect, per se.

No, if you don't have a healing surge left, your hit point total doesn't change and your dying condition isn't ended. Besides, if it was a condition that a save could end, it would end on any roll of 10 or above.

Well, I did mean "if you have a healing surge left" but ok, I see your point.

Not quite. Healing automatically starts at 0 hp if you're in the negatives, rolling a 20 on your death save has nothing to do with it. You'd start at 0 hp if the cleric cast cure light wounds on you, or the paladin used lay on hands to revive you. Rolling the 20 allows you to heal, that's it. It's the act of rising to above 0 hp that ends the dying condition, not a save.

Also this.

I like this mechanic :)

warforged can lay hundreds of years unconscious because they were dropped at a unfortunate place ;)

maybe after a (near) TPK in a dungeon... and the replacement party can find him again^^
