And interesting results. It didn't occur to me that the "warforged are too strong" might be such a vocal but tiny, tiny minority. :D

I'm surprised too... not very surprised, mind you... from the arguements made it definitely looked to me to be people judging things without really looking at them.

I'm also surprised that more than half of the "two strong" camp have little or no experience with the warforged in play.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I just thought that there woule be MORE people judging them with little or no experience. That's the best way to be predjudiced, after all.

We had 2 Warforges in the group I was with. I had the Fighter Barbarian, the other was a pure fighter adamantine body. We had 1 cleric and No Artificers. We were a liability to the party. I was rarely at full hitpoints. We bought a wand of repair but it was used up pretty quickly.

Look in the new magic items section in the Eberron book. Specifically at the "Eternal Wands" part. Wands with first, second, or third level spells in them that can be use by anyone capable of casting arcane spells twice per day, no charges.. Sure, you'd only get it twice a day per wand, but you'll never run out.

After reading that the one level of sorc my warforged took suddenly became a much, much better choice.

I played a warforged rogue/psion/elocater for about a dozen sessions (from 1st up to 20th; we level up fast in our games), & he was about balanced. In the early levels, he was almost always hurting for hit points (as there wasn't an artificer in the party), but after he took psionic repair damage & Spring Attack, he did much, much better.

He didn't really outshine the rest of the party (at the end, after a number of character deaths, composed of a cleric/exorcist of the silver flame, barbarian/dwarf paragon, cloistered cleric/wizard/mystic theurge), & when he did, it was because of class abilities, not racial ones.
