Warhammer RPG release schedule

Is anyone excited about this? I had the first edition and it didn't really do it for me. Some innovative ideas but I have no interest in investing in yet another RPG system. One of the best things about it was the flavor text when crits occured. Haha.

Well, I probably am going to buy at least the core book. The Warhammer World always was a favorite of our group, though we got tired of the system after a while - we had tried out all the interesting career combinations eventually. Now we are using GURPS, which is a fairly good fit (as opposed to, say, D&D, which is much too over-the-top).

Maybe the new edition will fix the problems we had with the old one...

I've been playing WFB for like 16 years - but never the RPG (read the old rules and didn't like them). Might be a good time to start (if the rules are more to my liking).

And the miniature collection is still there... well, Skaven and Chaos at least.

If only someone did a 40K RPG....

I have a soft spot in my heart for the Warhammer RPG and have ran a couple of moderately successful campaigns with it. The major problem is that eventually the charac ters get so overburdened with insanities and injuries as to be unplayable. I always healing magic a little more powerful and easier to obtain to circumvent this. I loved the careers and Realms of Sorcery (which, despite the websites assertation actually came out in 2001 I believe - only a 15 year wait for it too! ;) )

Oh I am sure I will buy the stuff because the game world is so appealing to me. One of the things that typically has NOT appealed to me, however, is the game system which I found to be a little on the clunky side. I am hardly a d20 shill or anything but at the same time I REALLY think this game would benefit from being d20.

Definitely gonna buy it !

Hi all,

I will get this, as I am starting a new Warhammer campaign soon and might as well wait for the release of the new version, what is the release date again and has that definitely been confirmed ? Warhammer has always been alot of fun to play if a little basic but wonderfully gritty and in your face. Combat was awesome and very quick to play even with 6 players and a DM. The choice of characters, even with only one book was a great appeal to most players in my experience with a couple of groups. The magic system was not great but then again most RPG's have some faults. What Warhammer did, it did very well and opened up the Horizion many years ago to what I would call "True Multi-classing" where you really can be all you can be. Ok that was corny but apt. Multiple Careers later and you trually had an awe inspiring character that could handle even Gandalf !!! .....errr maybe not but close. Great game, great system.....gonna get it. ZAL> :D

I am...very. Went to WFRP when 2nd Edtion drove me from D&D, it had issues but who lived that long to see them right and my players had a blast. It just did not get the support it should have. Can't wait. :D

Plus

...Black Industries will be releasing Warhammer on March 18, and it's an event you won't want to miss...

March 18 is my birthday and this is a very good gift.

WFRP2 will replace D&D3e as my preferred system/setting as soon as it comes out. I ran a multiyear campaign with WFRP1, and have been waiting for a second edition for some time.

Silly, really. I could've played WFRP1 instead of waiting, but hey, D&D3e really grabbed hold of me, so I went with that.

Really looking forward to the new capaign arc for WFRP.

Cheers!

Will there be a conversion to get your WFRP 2nd Ed PCs into Warhammer Fantasy Battles?

How much are Games Workshop overseeing the creation of the 2nd Edition? I'm a little unclear on the relationship.

Thanks.
