Warlock - no powers to modify eldritch blast?

Plane Sailing

Astral Admin - Mwahahaha!
I'm surprised to see that the warlock apparently has no powers that work by modifying their eldritch blast, which seems strange since

a) it was a fundamental from the original warlock
b) every 4e warlock has eldritch blast

Didn't the cartoon tiefling warlock say she had an ability that allowed her to zap more than one target with the Eldritch Blast?

I would have imagined that there would be a range of powers to associate different energy types onto the existing blast, with appropriate additional side effects.

Maybe I should use some of my copious free time (heh) to put something together in the homebrew forum...

Cheers

Yeah, that tiefling lied to us.

I'm not sure why I'm surprised.

I'd just about guarantee such things are in Arcane Power, though.

many of the powers can be considered as an eldritch blast + effect. I believe Eldritch Rain is the very thing she spoke of. Many other powers seem to be Improved "flavored" blasts, especially for infernals.

The cartoon specifically said she had a feat that allowed her to hit two targets.

Of course, that was months and months ago and change happens, but it's not the same thing.

Since EB can be used as a basic attack it would be a too big advantage if it could be modified

It wouldn't be any more game breaking as Scourging Burst for example. The Warlock is supposed to be a Striker with some Controller aspects after all.

There's always the option of making your own. ;)

Eldritch Chain Warlock Attack 7
Your Eldritch Blast arcs to strike multiple targets.
Encounter * Arcane, Implement
Free Action, Ranged 10
Effect: When you hit with Eldritch Blast, you may also strike up to two secondary targets within 10 feet of the primary target with Eldritch Blasts.

Yeah, but "Eldritch Missile" just sounds kind of lame. ;)

But "Eldritch Bolt" would work just fine, I think.

There's definitely something strange with 4e wherein they weren't afraid to get rid of old concepts, classes, races, skills, and so forth... but they kept a lot of the same names when something better might have worked.

They killed sacred cows, replaced them with buffalo, and then called them cows.
