Warlock queries

First Post
I have a player who made a Warlock, and after reading the class, I am a bit befuddled.

Does that eldritch blast have no limit to it's use? That seems a bit much.

Also, I read that the Gnoll Warlock in the MM4 had it's Entropic Warding effect up- seemingly- at ALL TIMES. Am i wrong?

Anyone with advice, I am stumped.

Also, is there a definition of "at will" in the rules that I missed somewhere?

Nope, Warlock is all day, every day. His balancing factor is that he's far less flexible, and his 'at will' powers are less powerful than what everyone else can do.

Yup. When a wizard would be doing 5d6, a warlock is doing 3d6. I've seen two in play - it's not been an issue, because the original classes have more bang for their buck, but the warlock keeps going like an Energizer Bunny, so everyone gets their time in the spotlight.

I've been thinking that it might be fun to make an "always on" party:

Warforged Crusader
Warforged Warlock
Warforged Dragon Shaman
Warforged ... Rogue? Scout? Swordsage?

They do not sleep. They wait.

Cheers, -- N

Just remember that it's a full round action (so one shot a round) and that it requires a roll to hit.

Funny no one ever complains that a Fighter can swing an axe multiple times a round...

Invocations are Standard.

Eldritch Blast is an SLA with no defined casting time, defaulting to the over-arcing rule fo SLAs of 1 standard action.

I have played a warlock my self before. THe best trick I could pull at about lvl 5 or 6 was the darkness-devil's sight combo. They can't see you, but you can see them. Makes for some easy hits. I also went with halfling for the dex bonus and size bonus, pretty good for consistent hitting. Not a lot of damage though.

Warforged Scout

Fixed that for you. Also, we shall be trying out this group on a foray into Undermountain next week.
