You left out "neither".
Or not. Sometimes A or B without a third option is a valid question. It isn't always a bad thing to force a choice.

For me, I don't put warlocks or psions intrinsically higher than the other, but if the choice was forced I'd have to go with psions. I'd rather see a whole book of psychic stuff than a whole book of warlock stuff. So psions gets my vote.

Either or, would you rather, zobmondo... whatever you want to call it. The line is drawn. What side is it?

In my current game: Psions.

In 4e: Damned if I know. Gimmie a year to play with both and I'll get back to you.

Warlock. I prefer magic and demonic pacts to new aged crystal weirdo stuff.

Yea, I know psionics can be flavored differently, but it generally has too much overlap with magic or has the wrong flavor (sorta like monks in pseudo medieval europe settings).

Yep. Sure some of that stuff does have some historic cred, but mostly psionics is magic after the magic is explained. Plot device brainwave Omega causes gravity field to invert around an object, Plot device brainwave gamma can aggitate the molecules in material causing it to ignite, Plot device brainwave Zeta can allow communcation faster than lightspeed etc.

Thats all fine in a modern or future setting, but in a fantasy setting, there need not be such thing as brainwaves. A wind spirit carries you aloft, your soul or your willpower conjures balls of hell's fire and an enchanted moth carries your plea for help to the lord of the eagles in the gentle beat of its wings.

I think this poll isn't going the way you hoped it would. It pretty much answers the question why WotC is going with the Warlock over the Psion (not that its really a one vs. the other decision on their part.)
