Warlocks, warlocks, triple warlocks and a little "yahoo".

I hate the D&Dism of magic and psychic powers being these two separate things. Wizardry should be the knowledgeable application of psychic power.

I guess I'm a psionics advocate. My campaign world is built, conceptually, on psionic power. However, I've yet to see a psion that dis even close to doing what I want the way I want, and thus am less than optimistic about publishing it in the future. IMO, the rules ought to relfect that magic is an offshoot/application of psionics, rather than the other way around.

And even though I like mental powers, they just aren't essential to "fantasy" gaming.

Warlock, OTOH, was very nice mechanically in 3.5 and represents a good trend (more specific spellcasting classes).

Psions are more important to me. Therefore, they get their own book as is just and right.

I love psionics and pray every day (okay...maybe not *every* day, but most days) that they NEVER again get relegated to the ghetto that is their own book to be alternately ignored and twinked out.

Fortunately, a comment from one of the designers (you'll need to ask someone else which designer, I don't remember) made it clear that psionics are currently being developed along with the core mechanics and will be released in the future. I'm guessing that with additional DMGs and PH(b)s due out each year, they will appear in 2 or 3 as a fully integrated part of the system not an add on that is reviled by some for perceived brokenness (like its that much worse than the brokenness of the Completes) and actively ignored by others.

warlock fits much better in to a fantasy setting. Psionics are more Sci-Fi and i will never let them into any game I run and I avoid playing in any game where they are allowed. But hay, that's me, if other people like um, give them what they want in their own book.

okay, personal opinion.
Psionics have always seemed to be the "magic" of sci-fi and I feel that's where they belong. If other people like them and have fun with them, great, but I don't.

The 4e warlock looks better, so I voted for it, but I like having alternate vectors for freakiness so I want psionics to show up at some point. FWIW in my 3e setting psionics is one of those mysterious NPC-only abilities while warlocks don't even work on the prime material plane.

There wasn't a "neither" option so I voted for warlocks. While I do like 3.5 psionics, I think psionics are still a bit of a niche taste, so I think I will ultimately get more mileage out of the warlock.

Neither answer really fits.

I'm glad to see the Warlock replace the 3e Sorcerer. Different styles of magic are important, especially with the Druid going.

Having said that, psionics is more important to me, which is why I want WotC to take the time to do it properly, not hack it out to get it into PHB I. The last time it took them 3 1/2 editions to get it right.
