Admittedly, all heavy armor proficiency does is allow one to boost Str instead of Dex, which isn’t much of a power bump, so heavy armor proficiency wouldn’t be much of a power grant.
In 4e the class already was mostly Strength but a high int focused warlord could go light armor (often a lazylord option would do that for both style and efficiency actually).

Mantle of Inspiration could be a good model for the repositioning of allies. One Bardic die allows CHA in allies w/in 60 to move a full move with no opp attacks, plus some temp HP. That's a 3rd level ability. Could easily be done using the reskinned Ki points. It at least sets good bar for the resource cost of an ability like this.

nice....

Twosix explained it. I'm only doing what people tell me to.

To quote my favorite drug dealer- "I'm not doing anything bad here. I'm just an enabler."
Heheh its understood I believe, and its a case of even the design to beat didnt get this element perfect so some stagger steps expected.

Or an ability fueled by Ki points that adds INT to AC as a reaction, kind like the shield spell. Same ability could be granted to an ally (as a level up perhaps...)
