that giant douche had better not be pointed at me.
It's not, quite the opposite actually. I believe the "poem" leveled at you was extremely cruel and entirely unfounded.
Hence, the picture of the douche.

Don't be mean, StreamofTheSky. I'm beginning to think he wants a serious answer.
Funny as my reply may seem, I was being serious. You want to beat a high level mage, you enlist the help of..a high level mage. Mages are like Ninjas, it takes one to kill one.
Okay, sorry, I got lost in the list, but the build I mentioned is a build that works against saving. The Shadowcraft Mage build uses abilities both in the class and outside the class so that even if they see through the illusion of the shadow evocation they get backlashed at equal or more damage, so it bypasses laws of evasion and mettle. Clerics, have many spells that will just get you because of your alignment and nothing else. Also, you only have 7 manuevers known and 4 readied, in a realistic battle sense you will have the three diamond con. save counters and one good hit. A swordsage takes an entire round to recover one manuever, without feats. At least with your other build you had a consistent option to try to elude him and kill him if you got close. Now you will probably say that is what power attack/shock trooper THW is for, well not if they have hold the line, like a tank cleric could, then they have an AoO against which would easily succeed. Add a simple brutal surge property or knockback would stop you in your tracks in preparation for their turn.kind of wizard: against anyone that wants to pvp and rolls up a wizard.
mettle/evasion: i DO have both mettle and evasion, note the 2 levels of monk and witch slayer. i will write it in bold next to them.
also, be constructive please, i have only been playing for 2 months.

I needed a good laugh?
You won't learn how to play D&D (or how to DM as per the other thread) by setting up a 20th level warrior vs. wizard challenge. You will learn D&D by playing it. You will learn faster by playing it with an experienced DM.
Yup, what he said!

Entirely too funny!
I don't have an 'experienced' DM. Our DM left to go to the UK for an OE. he is gone for good and i have inherited his books and a group of players that im supposed to DM for.
its been exam time for us for the last month; im done now and they will be done in a week, by which time i need to know the game or they'll probably lose interest.
i cant play with people and there is no experienced DM.
so please stop being rude and give helpful advice. Or dont. silence is always nice if you cant be polite.
There is always helpful advice here, just don't listen to the SARCASTIC few. (I am fairly new here meself)
Yes, I refresh as I clean.
Seriously, though, I am trying to point the guy in the right direction. He isn't going to learn D&D by fighting with people online about warriors vs. wizards, or by trying to optimize his 20th level fighter.
Better if he:
- tries an online game (even if he just sits in) before he starts DMing his own players
- tries "Encounters" (even though it is 4E)
- thinks about how he will set up his upcoming campaign and asks us about his ideas, as others have done
Yupp
bah and humbug to you sir. my learning methods are my own business.
Those that can't, teach. Look, I ain't about to tell you how to run your own game, but..... you have some experienced people here TRYING to answer your ? and help you. However, it seems that you don't want to hear any answers except your own.
Come on, a 20th level Warrior can totally slay a 20th level Wizard, in 9 easy steps:
Only if the wizard lays down to die.![]()

what?
i've been listening to everyone, except that guy who was an asshat.
don't blame me if you cant read.

Here is what I say, find someone who is experienced with playing a caster and set up the match with this character or another. Also, I will say I am not of the camp that casters are complete king, but lumping them as one and assuming one character will kill them all is like saying I have military vehicle that will both trump a fighter jet and a tank. It isn't necessarily that you can't, but they have vastly different advantages for respective situations. Advantages one character can't entirely usurp and overcome.
