Thievery??? I calls it Lock Smithing, hence the reason for the lock picks.:lol:

Because they are pretty sure the DM wouldn't direct a party of PC's to town that didn't include a rogue and by examining each person's dress and equipment it's easy to determine who is the rogue. Those NPC guards are notorious metagamers.

Given the problem with the metagaming player, that's a sound way of solving the problem. (They can even throw in a "how do you like it" quip.)
 




This instant I hear this as a DM the monster gains 200hp, does double damage and gains +5 to all defenses. So, yeah, now it can't be beaten.:p

or its 8 levels higher papa monster (that somehow rolled a natural 67 on its stealth roll to sneak up on them) backstabs the person that said it
