Wasn't this how Thudaar the Barbarian started?
You mean Thundarr?

Well, at least we're prepared for the apocalypse - I'll finally be able to summon and control forces beyond the ken of Man with my Players Handbook! Thank goodness I have the monster manual, which has informed me of the actual names of the legions of hell...I shall bind baatezu to my will!

Which of course just means that, in terms of Thundarr, I chose Sorcery over "Super Science." But I will probably keep some Mok's as slaves, just for kicks...

As long as I get to wear a patented fur vest, carry a sun sword, and have a hawt sorceress chick cohort that I can treat in a mysogenistic fashion, I say "Bring it on!"

As far as I can recall, I always thought it was just "Ookla the Mok" who seemed to be a pretty obvious ripoff from (or inspiration for? I don't know which came first) Chewbacca. In fact, as a child, I thought Thundarr was a Star Wars cartoon, and I couldn't ever figure out why so many names were different...

I had the hardest time trying to figure out what exactly made him a "monk," finally decided that someone had decided to name his species that for whatever reason.

I don't think I found out it was actually "Mok" until years later...
