Water Problems [DM: Voda Vosa; Judge: Kalidrev!]

"We should try and not get spread out again if we can avoid it. I can best keep them focused on me that way" The shifter says, cleaning his thin blades as he sits.

The mercenaries take a short rest under whatever shadows could the dry palms cast, hydrate themselves whit some water, and cached their breaths after the tiresome battle.

OOC: So, rested and ready. What's next? You mentioned to search the area, I'll need some perception rolls from the ones searching, if they intent to look out for something specifically, or just what are they doing and where are they searching.

Frost will walk over to the corpses next to the holes, looking around, sniffing the air as he does, although he eyes the holes warily. The shifter begins searching for any clues if the ankhegs are responsible for the drainage.

Frost fins three corpses, with their dry skin attached to the bones. There are two scimitars lying on the sand, and a spear of sorts. One of the scimitars seems to be two handed. The armors of the men are rotten with their bodies.
The weapons seem to be fairly good, and Torqua can say there's something magical about them.
The oasis seems to be peaceful now, nothing to hear or see, just the air making a howling sound with the big hole.

"Well, reguardless, we'll have to go down there. It doesn't take a wizard to figure out that down that hole is where out water problems lie." Torqua answers Myoto, looking down the hole. "I could try to widen it if you like with a few magical earthquakes, but that might cause the damn thing to cave in."

The fat sorceress is interrupted when Frost finds the corpses. "Poor guys, not even their magical weapons saved them. Should we bury them or just leave them be."

Myoko took only a quick look around the oasis- she knew her eyes were not as keen as some of her companions, and she kept most of her attention on the burrow, in case more creatures showed up.

After a little while, it seemed obvious what they had to do next, and she bowed her head to acknowledge Torqua's thoughts. "Looks like we must go down the hole after all- but I don't have to like that idea. Let us get these poor fellows laid out, away from the water. If we make it back, we can get them properly buried- and if we don't, someone will need to take care of our corpses as well, I guess. It is too hot to do much digging in daylight." She looked over the bodies briefly, trying to determine what she could of them- if they headed back, it would be good to know who had fallen, so it could be reported. Then she shrugged, heaved a heavy sigh, and reached for her helmet again.

"Okay, then. Down the hole we go. Frost, your eyes are keen- take the lead. Vardaal, back him up, then Torqua, then me. Kavac, take rear guard- we can't afford to let anything cut us off from the exit." She looked around the group, to determine agreement or dissent...

OOC: Proposed marching order- votes? Or better ideas, if you have them- like how to not have to go down the ankheg burrow?

Kavak nods "I will do that. What about these weapons? I'm not liking blades or spears, so you might take them" he chuckles "Anyway they won't be using them after all."

Frost looks at the weapons, bending over and picking up the curved scimitar and making a few swings then shakes his head as the shifter looks up at the group. "Too heavy for me, I prefer the nice clean stabbing of these blades. I don't mind carrying it for the trip though. I'll lead, as Myoko pointed out, it makes the most sense. Can anyone carry a light?" he says as he pats the twin short swords at his hips.

The shifter bravely takes the lead as they prepare to descend down the tunnel, his weapons drawn.

Frost gets +1 to hit and damage with off hand weapons so essentially is around the same with the scimitar (except it would be only +7 vs ac rather than +8 and 1d8 vs 1d6 base damage)... I think I'll pass. We can sell at the end maybe and divvy up?[/sblock]

Holidays over...most...back to it.

Vardaal picks up the falchion with one hand, looks the fine weapon over and smiles a toothy grin. "Hmmm... ok, not favorite way to kill, but maybe in tunnels it too hard for big sword, try little one" the bugbear says, carrying the much smaller falchion around.

At the words of their group leader, Vardaal nods and smiles, tightening his grip on the new magic blade as he follows Frost down the hole

[sblock=ooc]
Ok, Vardaal will use the falchion, I'm thinking that once he levels up I'll switch out the fullblade for the executioner's axe. Just an FYI :)[/sblock]

OOC: I admit I could have given you other weapons, but if these were desert nomads, it didn't have much sense them having "western" weapons.
