And the Nominees are...
So...I was sitting around watching 'Old Boy' and it reminded me, you know I should really get my reasoning up on Enworld. So here I am.
Thats a unlucky turn of events with WAR but like I said to Kia Lord, the more Wayne works the more art he has out and the more recognition he'll get and that makes the world a better place. Or something like that.
Anyhow, here basically a breakdown of my nominees. Remember that no matter how I picked them they all had one very important factor, when I closed my eyes I could see them rendered by the Hand O' Wayne! They had an clear evocative presence that I believe will lend itself to medium in which it shall be created...you see....I'm even confused now.
So here ya go:
Ok, first off there were way too many good ones in
there and everyone should give themselves a big round
of applause for putting up some great characters. I
could tell a lot of love was put into them.
The only way I could go at this task was to break my
selections into catagories and thus build a list of
potential winners.
Thus here are my picks:
BEST NAME THATS ALMOST MY CATS NAME:
Ta’Vanka – Battle Maiden of Nol Dappa by MrFilfyIke
Now you might be thinking Ta'Vanka isn't the best name
you've ever heard BUT MrFilfyIke IS! Take into
consideration that this little lovely has some very
nice visuals, Otyough Tooth Necklace and Shrunken
Heads you can see how this might be a really nice
piece to illustrate. Also take into consideration my
cats name is Filfy Kitty and thus we have our first
pick!
I didnt say any of this was going to make sense. It
only makes real sense to me and if my logic makes any
sense to you, seek immediate help.
MOST DETAILED:
Krellick Chergoba by Rawwedge
This is a fur lined over detailed character
description to put in the book "Really Detailed
Descriptions of Characters Utilizing Fur and Fur Based
Accesories." I figured some artists really enjoy
detailed descriptions so this one had to make the
list. I also thought this had a very WAResque Action
scene, I could almost picture the rendered drawing.
BEST SPELL:
Wikanby by Whizbang Dustyboots
My character Efrim would be envious of this little
Kobold and his spell Wikanby's Dragon Bolt. Efrim
wouldve added "... of DOOM!" but to each his own
I
also liked the fact he was non-human and reminded me a
bit of the Kobold bard from NWN.
BEST WRITTEN:
Jaran Enverness by Eosin the Red
I really liked the writting overall on this one, even
though the mention of angels and teets scared me at
first. It was well written and presented nicely. I am
still not sure of his Shining Moment, would the
picture be of him kicking butt or of him alseep? Im
hoping for the butt kicking version myself.
WEIRDEST ACTION SCENE:
Lyrael by Zappo
Overall this is a strong entry, and organised neatly.
Everything was nice but the Action scene made me
laugh. Its one of those ridiculous D&D scenes that
happens probably far too often. The PC is totally
hulked-out doing massive collatoral damage just trying
to stay alive! Just all the spell effects going at once
is enough to get this one into the running.
OOPS I ROLLED A 20:
Berandor Marikulis by Berandor
I got a soft spot for using the name of yer fav
Character and THUS Berandor makes the list! Thusly
indeed, plus the fact that his Action Scene moment is
SO the type of gaming that seems to happen to me. The
last place you want a 20 and BANG! it happens. Thus I
thus that in thusitude thusly Berandor makes it on the list
with a very nice overall entry and a "man Ive killed
my shape-shifted gold dragon mentor more times than
I'd like to admit" moments.
OK, so there you have it. Out of my brain straight onto your computer screen! and with out all the mess normally associated with such a procedure. Chan-wuk Park, Old Boy and Symapthy for Mr Vengence, and I hear he may be up to do the Evil Dead remake. Hmmmm.
Well Kids, Im going to make sure Filfy Kitty has food and then Im off to dreamland,

Thanks for the feedback. It is very interesting to read your thoughts on the six. I might be upset that my writing wasn't noteworthy except for the fact that I was just trying to create as vivid an image as possible for the artist and meet the original request posted.
I guess I've given everybody a glimpse into how obsessive and anal I can be about my characters. They all have multiple files wit all sorts of details.
P.S. It's cold on the northern Rashemi Steppe you know...

I finished going over the final details of the scene with WAR about a week ago. There may even be some surprises in store with the final piece. However the final painted work won't be finished until late in the summer / early fall (WAR's a rather busy guy...).
