Weapon implements and Prof bonus???

Yeah, but I thought that the opportunity cost was already counter balanced by the fact that you don't waste time/actions swapping out between weapon and implement.
This assumes your PC needs to swap them out quite frequently in the first place. Since holy symbols only need to be worn, paladins and clerics don't need to do so. Wizards and warlocks tend to stay away from melee, so they don't need to change out their implements very often. In addition, if they don't use shields, they can also keep a weapon in one hand and an implement in the other. Quick Draw, which allows you to draw an item with the same action that you take to use it, also helps offset the swapping out problem.

Sooo..would this mean Kensai bonuses would also add to say all of a sword mages spells? Might be interesting synergy for a str swordmage.

I dunno... is it truly unbalanced when non-elemental power users can buy a dagger and take advantage of the more powerful elemental feats ad-nauseum, but an elemental power user cannot take advantage of non-elemental feats even IF he's using the tool mentioned in that feat, or is a class centered -around- the tool mentioned in that feat?
