Weapon Proficiency Bonus question

Well fair enough, but they're still powers for the definition concerning the application of proficiency bonuses, and your apparent lack of interest in them doesn't change the RAW. They follow all the same rules as any other power with the "Weapon" keyword.

Which is why I said it was my view. It doesn't change how they play one whit for you, me or anyone else. I just think that calling almost everything a character does a "power" is a bit silly. Don't trip and fall when you get down off of that horse.

Edit: Where did I say that vanilla wasn't a flavor? You're seeing things there that don't exist. At Baskin Robbins Vanilla is one of the 31 flavors.

I'm saying the perception of the difference of things that are not different leads to misconceptions that result in questions like the above.

And vanilla is an awesome flavor, if done right.

Well, power is a crunch term.

I doubt a ranger thinks he's using any sort of power when rapid-firing arrows.

Exactly my point of view. "Powers" are just a game term for different "styles" that the classes make use every time in combat!
