Weird Sky

I hope you can see it well enough in this image (my 2.25 year old in the foreground), but there was a weird color effect in the sky. Look for the striations and tell me what you think is causing it. It had rained about two hours earlier. This was taken about 7:30 EST, looking nearly due east.

I think those are shadows.

If there is some humidity in the air, the droplets of water will reflect some sunlight down to the ground. The dark lines are then shadows of the trees & the tower.

Thanks for the information, though. I've never seen this phenomenon before so I took the picture with my camera.
