Weird things that attract players

Not to brag, but I have to admit that I used to sling a mean weasle in my day.

Cheers
Are we still talking about animals? That was almost pornographic.

Hey gang! MThibault's been slinging his weasel again. You would think he'd be blind by now. :p

I have to admit that I let the guy who had the weasel slinging system, he was druid by the way so all the weasels were his animal companions, take lots of weasel slinging feats and make collars that enchanted his weasels.

All lived in fear of his +3 shocking weasel and screaming weasel prana attack technique.

I allowed him to do this because in every combat he would fling his weasels, the opposing mage would instantly blind him, and I would laugh quietly to myself.

...and, much like a dead floating beholder, a pretty cool visual.

No... no! Not the... cool visual! Garg!

Privateer's head slowly implodes, and curses the irony that this is, in fact, a cool visual.

Is this a feral, undead, dire, wereotter? Those are nasty.

Nope, but the Vampiric Otter Of Doom is getting close... that 'share with familiar' ability was tres useful.

Vampiric Otter Of Doom. One of these days I'll have to thank the player who came up with that...

I'm talking about spiked chains, hobgoblins, toads and stuff. All the stuff that have cool rules that attract the players attentions but really, who would actually choose these things otherwise?

You could publish some real cool rules for coat racks and lo, the party tanks are duel wielding them monkey gripped... :p

Okay, does it matter? Should we care? Do we want MORE.

Well, an I had an OD&D fighter than would occasionally wield the party halfling. Of course, these were the days before Monkey Grip existed, so, y'know... duel-wielding halflings was out.

(Hrrm... that's something I probably never expected I would write... nor would I expect to ever write it again.)

The Obtuse Vampiric Feral Dire Were-Otter.

*shudder*

Halfling skip stones.

I hateses 'em! But all the other players in my group let loose with these aw look at the cute halfling throwing rocks noises.

BAH!

A good Half-Orc shotput is all I need.

Is anyone else starting to feel like the whole of Sword and Fist could be posted on this thread?

Though I would also include Drow and Blood Maguses.

In defence of weasels I should mention that the most frequently quoted bit of Simpsonsness around our table is:

"But Marge, weaseling out of things is what seperates man from the animals! Except the weasel, of course."
