Weird Wars - D'oh! Now my local game store carries it....

Just yesterday, I broke down and bought Weird Wars: Dead from Above by mail order, since my local-ish (it's about 30 miles away) game store hasn't carried any of the line.

So today, I go in to see if they have Dragonstar, and what do they have on the 'New' shelf? Dead from Above.

Argh!

Of course, why they have Dead from Above is beyond me - they don't have any of the other Weird Wars books. So I'm not sure who they expect to sell DFA to...

And of course, they still don't have the first Dragonstar book yet (they tried to sell me the "Seafarer's Handbook" from FFG instead. Starfarer's, Seafarer's, what's the difference.

They still have the large stack of Chaosium's "Slaves of Fate" I noticed from my last visit, only this time it's been moved so it's next to the large, dusty stack of Chaosium's previous Elric/Stormbringer books.

Anyway, ending up getting Fading Suns d20

Hey Trance, sorry to hear it. Here in Salt Lake City I have had no trouble finding the books - just finding someone to play.

Please post once you have had a chance to look over the air combat rules and especially if you have a chance to play them. My gaming buddy, the only one interested in playing with me, is out of town for a while.

I have seen plenty of Dragonstar around too, just haven't picked it up yet. Our gaming group wants D&D and D&D only so I am a little gun shy when it comes to new gaming material.

Sorry for the bad luck.
