I'm doing a American Old West campaign useing the new Sidewinder;Recoiled rules, one of the things that I've decided to homerule is that along with Simple Weapon Prof. you get Personal Firearm Prof(PFP). as a free feat, after all my campaign is set in Texas after the Civil War (1866) and just about everyone knew which end of a gun to point.

One of the problems I'm haveing is that PFP is a bonas feat for a lot of Starting Occupations, now most has 3 feats to choose from, the Outlaw just had 2 Brawl and PFP, a friend pointed me to Light Sleeper* and I've included that with Brawl now. So does anyone else have a feat that I can use ?

* Light Sleeper Nobody can sneak up on you hombra not even when your asleep

you don't need to a feat to make sleep checks while sleeping. At least in 3.5 or somewhere I saw it listed as I think a -20 to your check. Which of course pretty much you don't hear anything unless you roll well and have a lot of ranks. In the case of your feat though, you could halve or maybe even make it just -5 to the listen check.

Doc, I see this house ruled alot but wanted to make a quick comment here. Anyone can shoot a firearm whether or not they possess the Personal Firearms Proficiency feat. Those without it simply aren't as good as those with it.

After all, not every school marm or store clerk is adept at shooting a firearm.
