What adventures for a WH40K campaign?

In a novel, Space Marine I think it was called, the main characters are a bunch of recruits (taken from Necromunda street gangs) who turn into scouts and are sent on their first mission. In the mission the scouts need to infiltrate a titan in order to destroy an enemy titan. My memory is a bit blurred but I think the novel describes Necromunda gang fighting, Space Marine boot camp and finally war. (That you could have guessed for in the the grim darkness of the far future there is only war.)

I'd also recommend reading Inferno! if that publication is still around. Perhaps you can find some back issues. In every magazine there are several short-stories and comics that could be mined for ideas.

I would whole heartedly suggest an Inquisitor campaign. Have the characters play the inqusitor's cohorts for a time to get the feel for the campaign and then elevate them to full fledged ones later and let them spread their wings. Nothing like a bunch of folks that will have to destroy a cabal of cultist's one day and then purge the alien eldar from an Imperial world the next.

This kind of campaign could include everything form full on combat to a who dunit. Besides, it is a great reason for folks of differing background to be together. Heck if they all want to play marines they could be part of a Killteam for an Inquisitor. :D

I was supposed to go work on WH40k RPG a long time ago.. back when I was young and eager... But there was no market for such a thing. And GW was not interested.

The eye of terror is a very good way on getting all sorts of characters in that is what I would have focused on. Especially Logan's World. A world split between Ork Slavers and human outposts. The techno-magical would be by force smaller then on an imperium controlled world.

Realm of Chaos books would have also been a corner stone of reference material as well as using my trusty WH40k: Rogue Trader book.

Actually creating world sourcebooks with more information as well as porting over into Warhammer Fantasy Battle a lot of the rules used in Rogue Trader would have been the route I would have gone.
