What alternate base classes are you using?

I'm actually working on the OA Samurai as the starting point for an appropriately balanced PC Aristocrat class. As it stands now, I think the OA Samurai is a bit too powerful, and I think an Aristocrat should be a secondary warrrior-- but, by multiclassing with Fighter, you'd get a solid, respectable combat character with a good dose of political and social skill.

Depends on what exactly you mean by an "aristocrat". If you want a talky, diplomat type of character, the SW or WoT noble or the Rokugan courtier would suit your requirements better than the samurai, who is still essentially a warrior.

Classes IMC:
- fighter
- berserker (renamed barbarian, no alignment constraints)
- knight (OA samurai modded, with some other stuff in place of the ancestral daisho)
- druid (OA shaman with an expanded list of bonus feats rather than martial arts only)
- mage (renamed sorc, uses OA spell list)
- bard (revamped spell list)
- ranger (revamped spell list)
- rogue
- and because someone expressed an interest, martial artists.

- OA classes are mainly used for NPCs.
