What are people doing with their 3.x colletions?

I'm expanding my collection as people move to 4E. The second hand market (online and at the LFGS) is allowing me to pick up copies of books I've wanted for a while at a pretty good discount, as well as replacement copies for worn out or damaged books. It's a good time if you are planning to stay with 3e or are only dabbling with 4E.

Amen there. The amount I've picked up in the month since release is great. Most of which I would never have paid cover price for.

Good time if you're not moving on to 4e.

Personally, I'm keeping mine...and expanding my collection by prowling Half-Price Books all over the D/FW Metroplex, filling in the blank spaces, as it were.

However, if you ARE getting rid of your 3Ed (or other) RPG books, consider dontating them to a charity instead of selling them.

Through my FLGS (Lone Star Comics), I've donated a few sets of the 3Ed Core 3 + OA books, GURPS Basic, HERO 5th, Ars Magica 4th, and a few other choice gamebooks- plus some dice sets- to troops serving overseas.

Other recipients who might welcome such submissions include some libraries, hospitals, clubs for at-risk teens, etc. Check with your local groups for more info.

I gave a bunch to my local animal charity. I think charity bookshops are a good destination and you don't have the hassle of selling on ebay.

I am a Collector. I have a request.

*If you are going to throw away your 3.0 or 3.5 stuff, send it to me! I have a place for it in my Historical Library!*

If anyone is interested, I'll give my address!

I'll send my stuff to anyone that wants to pay the shipping. Not looking for a profit, just want to clear some space.

They're strewn all over my office. I have piles I am using, piles I'm gonna use, and piles that I probably won't get around to.

And I got a new one in the mail today (the Pathfinder campaign setting hardcover)!

I'm building a fort.

It's not very big but seeing as the only thing I do in it is play Tunnels and Trolls solo adventures I don't need much room. The biggest problem is that I keep taking out the west wall when I roll dice. Tunnels and Trolls uses a lot of d6s.

I'm thinking of adding a guest house built of Spycraft and Shadowforce Archer books.

I'm keeping all my 3.5 stuff. It's a permanent OGL library for my personal use and my homebrew is not converting to 4E. I'll be playing 3.5 for many, many years to come.

I'm quite fond of many of 4E's design innovations but there's room at my table for both games at different times. 4E for convention/organized play, 3.5 for homebrew. I can't imagine giving up or selling my 3.5 stuff... too many unexplored possibilities for the future.
