3 20s? that is nothing... read this and laugh:

I am a cleric wanting to cast harm. I run in and combat cast- concentration check-rolled a 1.
He gets AoO (house rule) and gets a 20. roll to confirm- 20. I take 65 pts of damage...
I roll a fort save to see if i die of massive damage- 1.
DM feels pity for me and says "that dropped you down to -9 hp, roll to see if you die- fort DC 20"-
no problem, I have a +16 on the save.....rolled a 1.

lets see... that is a maximum pain on my part- the worst of all lucks:
1,20,20,1,1

(1/20)^5 which is a whopping
1 out of 3.2 million....

aint life grand...

I like the discussion on this site a little better

The posterior one obtains is dependent almost entirely on the prior, rendering probabilistic arguments inherently objectionable in this context.

I once ran a game where, similar to the situation that started this thread, a pc (last man standing) rolled FIVE twenties in SEVEN attacks! And the other two rolls were an 18 and a 19. The guy needed (I think) a 17 to hit.

End of fight... craziest dice luck I have EVER seen.
