What are you going to do with d20 Future?

BG? Not at all... I'm thinking grander... like Foundation and the Robot Novels...

LOVE IT!

I guess you're right Reg. As excited as I am for Future to come out, it still feels like the Modern gamers are getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop.

Make you a deal: Find me 150 people that will swear they will buy the product, and I'll get right on making them in PDF and print.

I was wanting to make all kinds of things for d20 modern, but those who have tried seem to think it's a publishing money pit. I don't know it's true, but...

Here's number 1 - and you will almost certainly get me to buy your sci-fi setting if it has no FX.

Honestly, Greatwyrm, I still do not know what you're bumming about.

For starters, I only get about one day a month to game. With a little one in the house, that's about all the Mrs. will let me out for. The other main thing is my group. For the most part, they simply hate the idea of a class-based system for anything modern. Even as loosely classed as d20M is, I know it would be a tough sell. For now, it looks like my one game a month is D&D.

Like I said, not Modern or Future's problems, but problems all the same. I'd love to have a Genetech or space-opera or even pulp game to run/play. It's just hard to see a scenario for me where that happens.

Yeah, I know the market for Modern just isn't what it is for D&D/Fantasy. I know D&D is what pays the bills, not just for WotC, but for most of the independents, too.

I'm sorry to hear that about your group. Out of respect, I will not comment your group's mindset. Will they feel betrayed that you find another group to game just for d20 Modern or any d20 games? I mean you can always go back to the first group for your D&D fix.

And I thought you personally have a problem with the ruleset, other than your group's presumptuous dislike. If you still do, I'd like to hear about it.

2, Space; Above and Beyond. Scifi/Military campaign. This was a great show, in my opinion, which was cancelled when it started getting good. It was about this squad of soldiers, I can't recall the branch at this time, in the near future.
Marine Corps.

My only real beef with Modern was the FX system. I'd much rather have seen something like Alternity's "Beyond Science" FX system be the standard, rather than pretty much just porting over D&D spells and psionics. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the rules as they are.
