What are you reading? [July]

Reading both Neuromancer and Evermeet: Isle of Elves.

Neuromancer is really good, very cerebral.

Evermeet is... um... well, I'm only reading it because a friend lent it to me and I have some strange compulsion to finish it. It's not that good.

Picked up Republic Commando: Hard Contact, and once I'm done with that it's on to RC: Triple Zero.

Hard Contact has been pretty good so far (only about a tenth of the way into the book). Interesting to see the Clone Wars from the PoV of a soldier.

and Hyperion.

I loved all four of those books, but Hyperion was defnitely my favorite. I talked my mom into reading them recently. She's on The Rise of Endymion, now. Talking to her about the series has made me want to reread them.

Currently in the middle of Out of It - A Cultural History of Intoxication. Before that was The Necronomicon Files, Pox Americana and The Devil's Dictionary. Hooray for non-fiction!

Demiurge out.

I'm reading The Lathe of Heaven right now. I'm also slowly working my way through Aliens and Alien Societies. After that, it will be Stand on Zanzibar, Travels With Charley, Stars in My Pocket Like Grains of Sand, Fallen Angels, and The Road to Corlay.

Just finished The Guns of the South. I might read the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, but I'm...hesitant. I've heard a lot of negative press, and I value well-written works.

Also, symbology?!

There are many, many, much better books, and many better-written books. I don't see any reason to read any of Dan Brown's books.

Right at this moment, my pleasure reading is limited to a couple back issues of Scientifici American that I have to catch up on.

But soon, on the beaches of Hawaii, I will tackle Poul Anderson's The Time Patrol and Lois McMaster Bujold's Young Miles. Each book is really a complilation of novels and/or novellas that I haven't yet read...

Read the first two books in Dean Koontz' Frankenstein take. Not bad but not great. Quick reads.

Then read The Secret Atlas by Michael Sta... can't even spell it. Solid read.

Finished the Waterborn and Black Good by J. Gregory Keyes. Good stuff there too.
