What are you teaching your kids? BD&D or what?

I started my 7-year old (now 8) son with 4E. He had no trouble with the math (they're doing the beginnings of algebra in 1st grade in our school system). He understands the character concepts from his experience with CRPGs. The only thing he really needs improvement on is his attention span. He's been improving in that aspect at school and in Tae Kwon Do, so soon we may be able to run a full campaign for the family.

I started playing the Dungeon! boardgame with my daughter when she was four. She's six now. I'll start playing Basic D&D with her maybe in a year when she gets just a bit better at reading. I've got a Black Box Basic set with her name on it.

When she's a little older we'll convert to...

NOTHING, because Classic D&D is what I'm still playing.

B10 Night's Dark Terror (download from rpgnow) is very good but may be a bit complex for a novice. It has a strong plot but avoids railroading.

Of course WoTC have just deleted this from RPGnow!:devil: Along with their entire back catalogue. Luckily I have a copy on my PC, as I now can't re-download it. This was actually the only TSR/WoTC e-download I've made, though I have tons of Judges Guild stuff, since TSR stuff is usually cheaper off ebay.

Not gonna make another WotC Zombie!

My nephew and his friends aren't old enough yet but I plan on starting them on Star Trek (LUG), Star Wars (D6 - 1st Edition maybe) or some kind of simplied Mutants and Masterminds. If all else fails we'll go Labyrinth Lord.

Don't have kids of my own but if/when I do you can be sure its gonna be a SciFi/Superhero household as well (so he/she can play with their cousin of course ;)).

With my luck I'll have a sports fan...:uhoh:
