What book should I buy?

All right, so I'm going to be getting a bunch of money soon. I'm going to use some of it to buy some books. I'm getting the Black Company and a d20 book. I already have the 3.0 core books, Sorcery and Steam, and AU, with Diamond Throne on the way. So, recomendations?

I know you just shot down the draconomicon, but you really should give it a look before dismissing it. It's simply the best RPG book published in a while. IMO.

I recommend "A Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe". The only book Monte's given a '10' to. I only have the free chapters myself, but am planning on ordering the full book real soon. At the least get the free chapters, because well... they're free and you really can't go wrong with that.

Of my favorite recent buys that were not tied to a setting (Kalamar for me) I liked Quintessential Sorcerer and Masterwork Maps: Inns & Taverns. Two books that serve very different purposes. The Q-Sorcerer book is one of those rare Quintessential books that really gets nearly everything right, and the Maps book is just one of those really handy DM resources.

Skip the d20 book and get Shadows Linger and The White Rose. Leaving trilogies unfinished is bad, if they're good books. And The Black Company ends on too much of a cliffhanger to stop there if you like it at all.

You won't believe this, but I found all but the first Black Company books at my thrift store. Thrift Stores ROCK! I found most of the Wheel of Time, the Silmarillion, and tons of old SF books. Wonderful places, thrift stores.
