What books should I get for christmas?

For the first time, I plan to be asking for Dnd books for christmas, and I wanted to know which ones people recommeneded.

I'm looking for ones that aren't too expensive, and have a lot of new info. I'm not a big prc guy, but I like new feats, abilities and items. I also don't want any Magic of Faerun books. Right now, I have all the WOTC class supplements (like S&f, DOTF, etc) but that's about it.

I've heard some of the quintessential books are good as well.

If anyone could post some suggestions, and why they think they're good, I'd appreciate it. If you know the prices that would be spectacular!!

If you want a book of arcane magic, get Occult Lore from Penumbra.

If you want a new pantheon, divine magic, and the organizations surrounding said pantheon, get The Book of the Righteous.

If you want a really good book of monsters, pick up Monsternomicon.

I personally think the Quintessential books are overrated, but I know they're quite popular. You might consider looking at the reviews area of this site. It's filled with useful information.

If you like feats, check out Mongoose Publishing's Ultimate Feats.

I'd also recommend any of Fantasy Flight Games hardcovers (esp. the Traps & Treachery I & II books), Occult Lore from Atlas Games, and Tome of Horrors (packed with over 400 monsters, most converted from previous editions of AD&D) from Necromancer Games/Sword & Sorcery. You also can't go wrong with anything from Green Ronin Publishing.

I don't have all the Quintessential books from Mongoose, but I like all the ones I do have, especially QRogue and QWitch. The others I have, QWizard, QFighter, and QCleric, are good as well.

Oriental adventures is spectacular for monks, but good as well for other classes too. Lots of new and interesting feats that add options but arent overkill. A few new classes that can add flava. Great book.

D20 Modern looks nice. It opens so many possibilities. Our group has discussed playing d20 Modern, d20 Shadowrun, d20 Traveller, d20 Fallout, d20 RIFTs, d20 Modern call of Cthulu, you name it. The system is supposed to be quite good too.

Spycraft is the best d20 game I've seen yet. I'm thinking of adopting the Chase rules for D&D. Maybe i'll get lucky and they will be in 3e Revised. :D

If you like the monks, DEFINITELY pick up Oriental Adventures... There's a ton of great content.

I'd also recommend d20 Modern. This has been my best RPG purchase of `02 (and I spend WAY too much money on RPGs:))

R&R 1 and 2 are no way never ever comming in my games as a DM. I thought MoF was bad, but I could handle that one. R&R is insane...

I'd want to promote all FR books, like FRCR, lords of darkness, MoF, Silver Marshes, City of the Spider Queen, and such but since you don't want it :p

Psionic Handbook is great if you don't already have it.

Call of Cthulhu = GREAT and I must definately recommend it to everyone to go and pick that baby up!!!

d20 Modern is on my to do list next week along with City of the Spider Queen and SIlver Marshes, my local gaming store was sold out on them so had to wait two weeks to have them delivered for me but the moment is comming near and I'm waiting for the call :p

These are the best "new" books I've bought recently: Tome of Horrors, d20 Modern, Elements of Magic.

Some of my "all-time" d20 favorites: Manual of the Planes, Oriental Adventures, Monsternomicon.
