How could I forget the Lamassu.

Anyways, I hope they do something interesting with the Asura, like focusing on their conflict/competition with the Devas as both servants of the Gods. Now that Devas are mostly lawful Good, I like the idea of the conflict between Asuras and Devas being more about Chaos/Law then Good vs Evil like it is in Pathfinder, I think it adds the kind of naunce that you find in the stories about Devas and Asuras, which was not complex then good vs. evil (Ravanna actually has worshippers and a few temples in India, and showed a sense of morality at times in his myths, and even Indra was referee to as an Asura early on in one of the Vedas).

Devas might be made from a God's intellect, the Asuras from a God's passions.

Celadrins, a planetouched PC race, eladrin/high elf with a eladrin (chaotic good outsider) ancestor. Were canon in an article from Dragon Magazine.

One area that could use a little more love is steeds. While it is true that paladins can only summon low CR steeds, it could be in the celestial's fluff that they can be impressed and agree to act as steeds for noble mortal paragons of good (nice boon). It wouldn't hurt the lammasu to get out from the androsphinx's shadow, and steedhood could be a good way to do it.

I don't see much point in putting much effort into celestials - if the players aren't going to fight it it doesn't need a stat block. The Pathfinder Bestiary has acres of pages of celestials which I have never used and am never likely to.

I feel that for this reason WOTC would need an excuse to make more celestials. Something like a 5E Planescape setting book where players would be more likely to interact with good planar creatures.

Which issue, if you recall? Also, sounds a lot like a 4e/5e style Eladrin with the Celestial type instead of Humanoid or Fey... maybe take the DMG Eladrin and make it Celestial? Wonder if this article was the inspiration for making Eladrin a type of Elf in 4e?

Not really expecting much in the way of Planescape Celestials returning, but it would be nice if they brought back the Asuras and the Lillend. Asuras to give us a CG Celestial that not shaped like a horse, and Lillends because they are keepers of the Infinite Staircase and can be used in a variety of non-related ways as well. Oh, and not Celestials, but - Dabus, please!

I guess they could make Dabus celestials if they wanted, they wouldn't be the first non good celestials in 5e.

Or even cooler they could make Dabus playable for 5e.

And I agree that giving us Asuras balances out the celestials more, because almost every single Celestial is lawful, only one or two are Chaotic Good. Coualts, Solars, Planetars, Devas, Evil Empyreans, Ki-rins, Death Pact Angels, Firemanes, Battle Force Angels, Felidar, Archons of the Triumvate and I think even Unicorns are either Lawful Good or Neutral. Leaving only Pegasi and Good Empyreans as Chaotic.

The celadrins appeared in Dragon Magazine #350 "planetouched of Faerun", and they are mixture of elves and eladrin outsider, usually firre, and fire resistance and a melodious voice.

In my setting the high elves or eladrins (fay humanoids from 4th Ed) are fay plantouched, mixture of elf and eladrin outsider, with the name "celadrin" to distinguish. Sometimes I would like to imagine parangon racial classes for some planetouched PC races.
