D&D 4E What Changes Do You Think They Will Make To The 4E Rules?

Similar to this thread here, I'm wondering what changes you think WotC will make to the rules (rather than what changes you want them to make).

Personally, I think that we will see more base classes in 4E.

There will be a move toward abilities similar to ToB where you can do things a certain number of times per encounter, rather than per day.

The system will be changed so that it is easier for DM's to prep.

There will be a move to unify rolls wherever possible. Thinks like Turn Undead, which uses a separate mechanic will be changed so that it works the same way as a lot of other resolution mechanics.

That's all I can think of for now. What about you?

I've only read a review of the Star Wars SAGA system, but I'd say the Skill and Feat systems may well get streamlined along those lines.

i think we will have less base classes with more flexibility. something like "by the numbers" or something.

I think we will see fighter and magic user, with lots of options to make anything we want (in theory).

Like from their you could pick an archer, or a divine caster, or a arcane caster... etc...

I forlornly expect a huge emphasis on....
1. simple rules that are little, if at all, more advanced than what's used in Mage Knight or Magic: The Gathering
2. miniatures and battlemaps
3. some form of collectability built into the game materials to try and get people to waste more money on randomized, randomly-useful-or-useless pieces
4. too much digital product needed to play/run the game, and many supplements, perhaps even major books, only available in digital format on Gleemax or somesuch

Updated version of a post made elsewhere

We know:

-3 core books: PHB, MM, DMG
-FRCS supported
-link to minis and online stuff

We probably know

-other companies can make stuff for it, but OGL may change
-at least as mini oriented as 3.5
-a lot of value added (ease of charecter creation) coming online.
-SAGA and Bo9S influances
-monsters and encounters somehow easier

I am 99.9% sure these stay the same

-six abilities
-classes and races (almost all familiar)
-9 point alingment
-roll d20, add stuff (and many other "D20" conventions)
-skills and feats (~80% familiar)
-magic items remain important for PCs
-"spells per day" magic default (~90% spells familiar)

I am 99.9% sure these will be tweaked
-class abilities
-particular spells
-particular skills and feats
-magic items
-monsters
-encounter and advesary generation

Probably will see

-some streamlining of skills
-some greater flexibility in classes
-some kind of alternate "power" in addition to spells per day, but spells per day still around
-halfling male cleric

So basically, I am sticking with the obvious. A lot of things that people say the would like to see changed, just seems unlikely its going to happen.

But that list above still leaves room for some pretty big things to change.
