What d20 projects would you like to see?

d20 American Gridiron (much like Blood Bowl by Games Workshop)
That seems like it'd be really easy, actually. Although Blood Bowl is such a good game as it is now that there doesn't seem to be much need for a d20 version of it. That would only make it a lot more complicated.

Salutations,

Really? I only played Bloodbowl a few times, but found it very frustrating- throwing/catching in that game was pretty hard.

It also seemed a lot of the game turned into a straight melee combat as the guy showing me the game just killed my players. heh.

It looked like it could have been fun.

Long time Shadowrun GM...

I think a D20 conversion of Shadowrun would be grand...the biggest problem that my group and I run into is the amount of time it takes to run combat, car chases, decking, or magic in Shadowrun. Have a scene in which two or more of the above-mentioned are going on, and the scene becomes the entire gaming session. My group is gonna 'retire' Shadowrun and move on to Spycraft as our modern, near-sci fi game of choice.

That was a big problem in our group as well- so we, the players, came up with a group agreement, none of us would play characters that did that to the group no deckers and the magic users avoiding going Astral unless it was a scene everyone else was active in as well.

As for car chases- Spycraft is very cool for a 1 vehicle on 1 vehicle chase, and any non-driver who doesn't get involved.. well.. that is their own fault. Shoot something, darn it!

Decking...

What wound up working for us was just simplifying computers and decking...a computer skill test modified by decking, or quality of deck, with the target number being whatever the task is and relative difficulty...if the decker failed his roll, then we roleplayed out what would happen (ICE attack, alarms going off, sentry guns firing at wrong targets, etc.).

d20 Magic: The Gathering
d20 Lone Wolf
d20 Warhammer

I think that the first three are good ideas. I'd love to just see the spells, monster,s magic items and characters written up in official D20 and official D&D terms. D20 Magic is such a no-brainer now that the Deities & Demigods rules, along with the Epic Level Handbook, are out, that its a shame they haven't already done it.

I want to see the Book of Infinite Spells, that many people suspected was Monte Cook's secret project. I want a book containing alternate magic systems, plus a full spell construction system. And no, the spell seeds in the epic level handbook don't cut it (see several threads under the rules forum).

Which edition did you play? The 3rd and 3.xx versions (which is available online as a free pdf, actually) are greatly simplified from prior versions. The game now plays very quickly. You can toss off a game in less than an hour, even if you ignore the time/turn rule.

I don't know.

The guy who was showing me the game was/is a GW-fanboy and had everything under the sun they produced.

In hopes of getting me interested, he slaughterd me in Bloodbowl, Warhammer Quest, SpaceHulk, and other games I have probably blocked out of my memory.

He had this interesting knack to make a game as un-fun as possible.

I will give Bloodbowl another chance if the opportunity arises.
