What do you call...

When someone has a nickname or something after their name, like "the Weasel" or "the Affable" or "the Spur", what is the proper word for that nickname?

I'm writing a review of the City State of the Invincible Overlord and most of the NPCs seem to have them.

I could have sworn there was a name for those things. Sobriquet I thought at first, but that doesn't seem to be it, according to the dictionary.

the thesaurus says:
appellation, byname, byword, denomination, diminutive, epithet, familiar name, handle, label, moniker, pet name, sobriquet, style, tag

how about nom de plume?

I believe the correct term is epithet: "A term used to characterize a person or thing, such as rosy-fingered in rosy-fingered dawn or the Great in Catherine the Great."

you do something all your life and do they call you...

Bonny the Milkman or Bonny the Deliveryboy or Bonny the Earlyriser.

you do something once and your stuck.. with Bonny the Sheep... :heh:
