B.S in Computer Science. IT Manager/Professional. Have managed mutliple large manufacturing sites; regional infrastructure teams & currently working as a program manager for a multi-year global software deployment. I work for a multi-billion dollar company and get paid well enough to afford all the games I care to buy, which isn't many because I have little time to use them.

Does RPGing help our careers by improving our skill set OR does my interests in problem solving, mathematics, creativity and people skills simply make D&D a fun hobby for me?

I have recently cast off the shackles of retail, and I start classes in an alternative teaching certification course June 9th. I have a BS in Biology and a MS in Geology. I should be in the mid-30's for pay once I get certified and get hired to teach HS Science.

I'm a librarian. Our gaming group currently consists of me, a chemist, a software consultant and a business developer/game designer. In the past there have been other librarians, a historian and an IT guy. All well adjusted, clean, contributing members of society.
You get all kinds. My groups include me (accountant), a stay-at-home mom (my wife), a cook, a programmer, a daycare worker, a financial consultant, a plant nursery manager, an IT guy, and a gaming/comic book store manager.

I gave mine i after taxes. What do I do? Right now its a small time farmer in the middle of no where, and I love it.

My after taxes/take home is in the 65,000+. Unfortunately I owe a lot.

Edit: That is a combined income for my wife and I. She is trying to break into writing right now, even has had her first full manuscript requested by Kensington Publishing. We should get word back by the end of July.

Our degrees? History, Biology, Psychology, Military Intelligence and a bunch of minors, all Bachelors level or Associates. I have a BS in Psychology and enough credits to have one for Biology, but didn't feel like bribing my college into giving me an official degree. My wife has official degrees in everything, including Biology.

Yes, my wife is a gamer too, and so are all 3 of our kids. It is AWESOME family time.

Currently unemployed - on extended holiday between gigs

In the previous career, I made a typical software developer's salary working for a research lab: more than enough to live comfortably and save/invest a fair bit.

In my new career, I make enough to keep a roof over my head, pay for the occasional visit with my family, and save a little bit per year until my next career change!

Unfortunately, my wandering lifestyle means a good ol' fashioned game of DnD is pretty much just a theoretical pursuit. :-(

I have a Master's in Middle English literature, and work as a freelance Dutch-English translator (tax, finance, insurance, corporate law -- Whisper72, does your company need a translator? ;) ). I'm also studying gemmology, with a vague ambition to design jewellery sometime in the distant future.

My gross monthly income is around 7-8000 euros (about 12,000 US dollars); my annual income depends on how much holiday I take. However, I think that the cost of living (including taxes and mortgages) in Europe is probably a bit higher than in the US, so it might be difficult to compare this figure to an American income.

I'm British. Therefore one mostly drinks tea and thrashes servants.

Thrashing the servants, how quaint! My dear fellow, really, you should engage a butler for that. You'll be able to devote all your time to drinking tea.

That's only half the British, the other half is the council estate, track suit wearing, drunk on cider, shaved headed yobbo.

...Innit!

I'm an engineer, BSc Electrical & Electronic Engineering. The more volts there are to work with, the better I feel.

I'm 40, my wife is a little younger. Our gaming group currently is us and three 20-somethings. One works as a coffee shop manager, the other two are an unemployed couple who met at University and had a baby in December. He's just finished his degree, her's is on hold right now due to baby-raising. We've also had a train driver, office clerk and a mechanical designer for a specialist instrumentation firm in our little group. My wife is an IT profesional who's staying at home right now to look after our two children, but is hoping to re-train as an IT Teacher.

My income is on the high end of your scale, assuming my maths and the conversion rate is correct!

And as a hobby for children: let's say I'm itching for the day I can say to my boys "Roll for initiative!"
