I am sure the community will come up with something to distinguish it from the 2014 version (OG 5E), but the official branding won't use it anymore than the current version calls itself "5E."
This. WotC doesn't want to reignite the edition wars / edition church, so they try to avoid using an edition number as much as possible. I know they sometimes refer to the game as "5e" or "5th edition" in interviews, but it's pretty much nowhere in their published products.The same thing they are calling 5E: "Dungeons & Dragons."

So you expect the Anniversary to be something like 1e to 2e transition?6E, but emphasizing continuity and compatibility with 5E
