What do you think....?

I am running a character in a campaign and wanted to get any insight or suggestions anyone may have.

He is currently a 4th level ranger, 4th level fighter, and 5th level windrider. My mount is a half dragon/wolf.

I use a greatsword and have the related feats to accompany it.

My current armor class is around 25 with dodge.
I'm wearing +2 Dire Ram Hide (Rhino Hide from DMG) with moderate fortification. It has also been worked on by the dwarves to make it articulated and reinforced. +5 armor bonus. No ac penalty, light armor.
I have a +2 dex modifier and a +2 ring of deflection. I also just bought a wand of barkskin +5.

Any suggestions on a higher armor class that can still fit with a ranger/windrider.. No full plate basically...

My character also thrives on collecting bits and pieces from downed beast that we kill. He has just purchased a vivisectionalist's handbook and now has a small bag of holding that has the keep fresh enchantment to preserve his collections.

Does anyone know of any items out their that could help in the gutting and collecting of such things?

Lastly my character is a human male and thus is interested in all types of gadgets and gear that intrigues's him.
He currently has a Travel pack that can magically turn into a one man tent. The side pocket of the pack can produce warm spiced tea and some rations 3xperday. He also has a mouth pouch that can store one potion when poured inside it and be drank as a free action at another time. He like's to know that he really doesn't need anyone else in the party to survive, except his mount of course.

Does any know of any other cool wondrous items that a ranger might have just to add some character flavor to the game. I've been eyeing the spice jar from Magic of Faerun but other items keep coming up before it.

Thanks for any help.

I think you should get a ring of sustenance. That way the elf who always points out he only needs 4 hours sleep can go pout when you only sleep two.

Also Magical vivsectionalist tools cost like 2500 to add +5 to your skill. or more like 5,000 since they don't take up a magic item spot. Or you could buy gloves that did that, you wear when you dissect.

Your bag of holding needs someway to have lots of smaller pocket dimensions so things don't mix.

Get a wand of reduce to shrink those parts right up.

that's a few ideas

I actually do have that cloak but had it fashioned as a water proof back pack. So instead of a cloak, it's a backpack that can pop out into a tent and has a side pocket with the spiced tea and such.

I may have to look into purchasing something that will add +5 when I do that. The only problem with those wands is I can't use them myself. There is a cool spell called Sample that could help also, but it's wizard/sorcerer.
Well I was hoping my bag of holding was made like that, but I guess it's not. I'll have to look into getting a better one. I'll have to be more specific. Perhaps I can have the size drop down, but add diffrent chambers and a keep fresh enchantment which should bring it back up to the small bag of holding price.

Thanks for the help.

Using your bag was like using any bag just bigger. So previously you wrapped things up in its own fur/skin or in wax paper or in leather patches or whatever you wrapped them in and tucked them in your back pack. The Bag of holding just has more room. To be really effective and be better you get a more expensive bag that has lots of smaller pockets. It wouldn't be that much more expensive and is more a neat roleplaying idea than that huge an advantage in mechanics. but that is what you were asking for.
