What does 'Co-ordinated Shot' from Heros of Battle do?

Pretty much what it says in the title. A player wants to take it but it's in Heros of Battle. The current rule is no using books I don't bring to the table, this beibg one I don't own.

You ignore cover bonuses provided to enemies by your allies position. They still have cover from other sources.

It's a good book.

I agree.

I am a big fan of the Combat Healer in there; pretty easy PrC for a healer to get into, and it's only a 5 level class.

And the rules for archers in formation causing an AoE attack instead of rolling to hit things.

I commend your DM's concern to increase his players' physical fitness by having them carry a lot of books around. Build those shoulder muscles! :)

No he said "I don't bring to the table.", the DM doesn't care about player fitness levels he just wants to give himself back ache.

It's a popular rule, unfortunately it's not great for the gaming industry. I've not bought a load of RPG books because I know while I'd be happy to include them in the games I run, the games I play in the GM's are more strict (Core, Complete (prior to Mage) and PHB II only), so what's the point?

Yeah, its a great feat. It allows you to ignore cover provided to your enemies from your allies. It really helps out low level ranged attackers that do not have much room to move around (aka in a dungeon).

The flavor behind the feat is pretty cool too. The archer (or whoever) coordinates his attacks with the movements of his allies such that he is not penalized when trying to shoot.

The feat is also completely useless once Improved Precise Shot becomes available but again, its amazingly useful levels 4-11.

I have a solution to your campaign rule problem. If people want to introduce a book into the campaign, they must let you borrow it for like... a week or 2 weeks, so that you get the gist. After said time, you decide what to allow or not, and also they have to bring said book every session, let you borrow it over the weekend, etc (so badguys can use stuff in it too).
