What does "does not stack with" mean?

Why can't you noobers just listen to Caliban? He explains it just fine...Caliban and Job, suffering the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune together...
Because Caliban isn't an official source of rules clarifications.

Hell, he's even been wrong (albeit less than the sage). ;)

If that were true this thread would have been closed a long time ago after having found the answer. But it hasn't soooo...and don't get me wrong, I love having Caliban around, not to mention CRGreathouse, Hong, IceBear, Spikey, and a few others.

Personally, I trust Caliban's judgement more than the Sage's. The sage does pretty good, but every now and again he picks the crack pipe back up.

At first glance I agreed with kreynolds, that you couldn't get an attack from haste and speed in the same round. After listening to Cal's arguements, I now agree with him. It makes no sense that with a haste on I can't drink a potion during the partial action because I attacked with my weapon of speed during the regular round.

Personally, I don't "trust" anyone's judgement, no matter who you are. While I truly and greatly appreciate the input I receive here, my opinions never change until it makes sense in my own head. I'm not one for laying down and rolling over because someone is popular. Also, perhaps the reason Caliban is right more often is because Skip has to answer questions from us so much. Heck, that'd be enough to drive me to drink if I was him.

Here's where I stand on the speed/haste issue:

1) It does not make sense to me that you could not use your haste action to drink a potion because you used your weapon of speed.
2) It also does not make sense to me that if you use your haste action, you lose both speed attacks if you have 2 speed weapons.
3) It does make sense to me that if you use your haste action, you lose 1 of your speed attacks. Surely you can see how 3 conflicts with 2 and 1, but at the same time, 3 partly agrees with 2.

These are the arguments that have been presented by various people, boys and girls. Parts of them make sense to me. But I won't make a choice based upon popularity. Primarily though, I haven't been here long enough to care one way or the other how often Cal has been right. Don't get me wrong though, I appreciate Cal's input and I respect him for his politeness.
