What does Sticky mean?

Okay, ANYWAY, a "sticky" thread is one that's stuck to the top of a board, so that it's always visible. Typically this is used for announcements, FAQ postings, etc.

Generally, only mods and admins can make a thread sticky.

Stop snickering, you lot.

Usually it means Morrus, Piratecat, or ThomasHeretic (occasionally Adlon) has something important to tell everyone on the board, and they're going to take the chance that maybe people will actually do what they're supposed to and read all the sticky threads instead of ignoring them like we know they normally do. It's one of the great paradoxes of EN World. People ask for threads to be made sticky, but it's pretty much a guarantee that the thread will get fewer views than if it were left to sift through the board normally. :rolleyes:
