I forgot about my online 3.5/Pathfinder game, whoops...

The thing that surprises me right now is how few people are playing 4.0 online, since that was a BIG part of the original announcement. Maybe people are waiting for the DDI for online games, but there are other options currently available.

I probably should have said "tabletop" or "pen & paper," but even those terms can be ambiguous so I guess I was damned if I did and damned if I didn't.
Why not just "in person"?
How about "face to face"?

4e only. I'll never DM 3.5 again, and would only play 3.5 if I knew the DM was a rockstar and I could use any WotC splatbook and we started play at 10th level or higher.

Playing Mentzer Classic face-to-face.

Running Empire of the Petal Throne* (1975) face-to-face.

* - which is basically house-ruled OD&D (1974)

Currently 4e (LA) playing, 4e (LA) DMing, and 3.5 (LA) playing.

In Jan, I'm switching back to 3.5 to finish out a campaign, then most likely going back to 4e.

"Face-to-face". :)

Cheers!

I told my new wargaming group that I play "tabletop". They immediately thought I meant wargaming. They had never heard the term referring to Role-playing games. And these guys have played both for longer than I've been alive.

I'm guessing pen & paper is more RPG specific and table top comes from the wargamer community. But maybe not. Both are really distinctions from the computer games.
