What happened between green ronin and osseum

Not to mention unrealistic. Didn't either Chris or Ben mention up-thread that a P.I.'s already made the attempt and come up empty-handed? I mean, I realize not every PI's created equal, and we all can't be Magnum, but seriously; you're Joe Blow Internet D&D fan. You really think you're going to have better luck?

I personally wouldn't. But you never know who somebody might know ... My lovely wife has worked in the collection industry most of her adult life, and has been acknowledged by some of her bosses/co-workers as one of the best skip-tracers they've ever seen. I'll put her up against a random PI for finding someone who's tried to drop off the grid any day of the week. (Doubt she'll want to spend the time it would take on this, but you never know ...)

I didn't have a handwritten note in mine, but I saw handwritten instructions to the delivery folks to take special care not to get the book bent, and I definitely appreciated that :)

I have just heard from the powers that be. Sending us your address again to josephbrowning@exp.citymax.com would be resulting in the sending of the woefully missing affirmative note.

I am but the humble messanger... :)

joe b.

ps. Affirmative notes are wee: but 1/6 the size of a normal page. Not unlike this sentance. But more affirmative.

She wouldn't let me do it 'cause if anyone recieved a handwritten note from me they'd think we had chickens in our warehouse. Retarded chickens. With pens. And super glue.

Super glue? To stick the pens to their beaks? :)

Heh, I don't need an affirmative note--I'm glad to have supported quality products :). I am a bit sad that I didn't buy all my Green Ronin stuff directly from them, though, especially with this. They make great games and they support a bunch of top-notch freelancers too. I shall never buy Green Ronin products except directly from their website again!

If you show us that you want more d20, we'd be happy to do it. Hell, Rob Schwalb would probably come to your house and kiss you.*

And if Rob won't, I will. Even having been caught up in this as a freelancer, I'd dearly love to do more work for GR in the future, in my (hopefully minimal) time between WotC gigs. That's a lot more likely to happen if they get into doing more D20...

Ditto.

Don't be too dedicated to buying everything direct from GR, though, if (and it's a big if) you have a good, well-run, friendly local game store near you. If you can order through them, even if you have to special order, and do so regualrly, you may convince them to stock GR items they wouldn't have. And that may bring in more sales than just your gaming budget. While it's true in the past GR might not have seen that money, I am very, very sure Chris has fixed that to ensure GR never has that problem again.

Owen speaks the truth. A year ago on initial release, we did take a hit and several thousand books were sold whose profits never made it back to us. Now, though? We've been in direct control of our own distributor sales and collections. No need to assume that if you buy a product in the stores we're not getting paid. In fact, our greatest risk of not being paid in the future comes from retail stores going under while owing their distributors, who in turn hit money troubles and then can't pay or plain ol' close up shop. A distributor I've worked with since I entered the industry in the late 80s just closed up (thankfully without owing us any money, but we'll still miss their business) and I've heard unofficial reports that another one or two small hobby distributors are going to be following suit later this year.

Rest assured, if you've got a good FLGS who stocks our stuff, you're not harming us by buying our products from them. :)

I for one would be willing to pay, again, for my Black Company book if the money was going to Green Ronin. If there was some kind of paypal account or donation setup I would not for a second hesitate to make sure the money that I spent on that great product went to Green Ronin and their freelancers.

There is an online donation setup.
