D&D 5E What happens if I unknowingly teleport into an invisible creature's space?

Nothing in Misty Step says "If you choose an occupied space, the spell fails," either--that is your interpretation, which is fine, of course.
You cannot choose an occupied space and still teleport. That is the RAW and RAI of the spell. My interpretation is far stronger than yours because of that.
Which is because DD allows you to go to a space you CANNOT see, so if you risk teleporting into a space you cannot see, such are the chances you take.
It still shows what happens if you end up in a solid object, which makes it the closest example we have to what happens in the case of Misty Step.

If we use similar 5e rules as a guideline, you would probably be shunted 5 to 10 feet from the invisible creature to an unoccupied space. You may or may not take a small amount of damage.

If the space is occupied by an invisible creature (and not an object), it would be interesting to use the Shove Aside mechanic in the DMG:

Except the caster of misty step would use their spellcasting ability instead of Strength (Athletics)?

If successful, the caster moves the invisible creature into a nearby space and takes its space.

If that would be possible, then why couldn't you do that intentionally with a visible creature?

However the spell is ruled to work with an accidental choosing of an occupied destination, I feel the result should be the same than with intentionally trying to teleport into such a location.

That's a good point--- it was just a thought anyway.
