D&D 5E What happens if I unknowingly teleport into an invisible creature's space?

I'd say with misty step you end up in another space you can see within 30 feet that isn't occupied. DM's choice.

In actual play, if the players/PCs in general, and the one Misty Stepping specifically, do not know the invisible creature is in that space, as DM I would probably just move the invisible creature 5’ so it is out of the way.

Failing to go anywhere is generally the least fun most miserable result.
So I have them end up in an adjacent space.

How about a more caster friendly option? What if, when the caster picks a square occupied by an invisible creature their DM says "That square is not a valid target for this spell" and the caster can simply pick another square.

No only that, but after the first time it happened by mistake, the PCs would be teleporting deliberately into all kinds of creatures to find a way to make a powerful monster/PC hybrid.

after the owlbear was created, a broad agreement in the wizard community was reached to cut that out. Explains a lot of monsters though.
