admittedly, my world probably has more craftsmen and artists than most (at least, in visible roles) and i am wondering how and if anyone else has had their career shape their game.

are you a printer who makes the best house maps aropund? has the CDC given you better insight into disease in your world? i can think of a thousand ways that real life careers can shape our worlds and the way we gaem, and i wanna hear about yours:)

Teacher: a lot of my adventures have "lesson plan" elements to them like goals/objectives, materials/resources, etc. I think I'm pretty good at teaching new rules and material. It helps make me a better public speaker and group leader. I can write clearly and concisely when needed.

Librarian: I'm pretty good at doing research if I want to inject some historical accuracy into my gaming. I have ready access to a lot of folklore and mythology resources, as well as fantasy fiction.

I am nothing but a lowly plastics molder in a large injection molding company.

However-
I find misc molding shots that I use as various blobs/oozes, Some rejected parts I take home allowing to create various neat things. I took the back of a blood sugar reader that had a bubble for a reject. Poped the bubble, took it home and put on rails and a Tyranid Venom Cannon and ...tada- a hover craft for Champions game. Also got neat black foam punch outs I use for shadows.

now if only I can convince the company to try for Dwarven Forge contracts..... :D

A number of my villians are based off of my bosses. NPC sometimes have the personalities of my fellow employees. It also allow me to print stuff to work printers and use other resources for my games.:)

My actor training alongs me to shout, complain, argue and enjoy my D&D sessions because I have good breath control. I can also project my voice very loudly for a long time.

:D

Plus of course, I like to think it means I can roleplay my characters better.

CO Tech: I think we have the only castle in all of Faerun with a running ATM and an OC12 connection to the elves and dwarfs. at self
