Am I doing this right?
I ran my first Nimble game last night, and my son quickly mathed out that it was more effective for everyone to basically minimize everything else that they would otherwise do, and simply Attack as often as possible. Even with disadvantage, or disadvantage 2, they still hit about 95% of the time, and attacked at least two, often 3 times per round.
With Level 1 characters.
They totally destroyed both encounters that we played.
I'd say that the combats were exciting and chaotic (in a mostly good way) but... definitely one-sided.
I didn't get to use a solo monster, but even with a LOT of minions on the table, each character was knocking off two or three minions per round.
Only twice in the session did anyone try to use the "Assess" Action, and both times failed the dc12, so they never attempted it again, as it seemed better to just attack. No one even bothered to Defend (no one came close to running out of HP, though a few got Bloodied) - the closest character to drop only had 2 Armor, so it didn't seem worth defending when they could just save it to attack on their turn.
And I'll point out - none of these players were power gamers. They're usually heavy roleplayers. It just pushed them in that direction, which was odd.
