D&D 5E (2014) What if the only 4 alignments were NE, LN, CN and NG? (No true neutrals).

I think part of it is that so many monsters were invented during a 5 alignment system (LG, CG, N, LE, CE) that it would be interesting to see a campaign that doesn't have those particular monsters.

For one thing, many dragons (all the standard chromatic/metallic 10, for example) wouldn't exist. That puts a different spin on things.

What makes you think this? All that'd really happen is that all those monsters which have one alignment now would just get a different alignment.
If you don't believe me? Just look at previous editions of the game.
Or ask those who play with no alignment system. I bet they still have red dragons etc....

What makes me think this is that I would be personally eliminating LG, CG, LE, CE and some TN monsters from my campaign (rather than just changing their alignments) if I get around to this homebrew setting I have cooking in the back of my brain that inspired this question. I think it might lead in interesting directions and highlight some otherwise neglected monsters. The gaming police will not be coming to my door. ;)

That said, I might have to allow animals, vermin (and some other other int 2 and int 1 and int - creatures) to be true neutral, or the druids summon nature's ally spells would need to be drastically altered. I think I would cheat a bit allow the "celestial" and "fiendish" templates to make animals/vermin NG and NE for similar reasons wrt summon monster spells. Otherwise, my campaign world will feature some creatures and not others (so no devils, no demons, few dragons (pseudo dragons exist), etc.). I am curious as to what this campaign world would be like. I believe it would be non-standard, even if I just use the remaining critters in the MM after culling it.
