D&D 5E What I'm looking Forward to in D&D in 2022

Could someone link to or cut-and-paste a list of what we know about WOTC products for 2022? I know there was a thread a while back that detailed past trends and future projections, but I can't find it.

Despite the ongoing Covid crisis, 2021 was a pretty good gaming year for me. I just hope I can keep the momentum going in 2022. I'm not seeing a single gaming product coming out that has me fired up. Who know though? Maybe I will get a surprise delight like Witchlight turned out to be for me.

It helps we returned to in-person gaming now that we all have our vaccines and boosters. If we stayed on lockdown I certainly would have taken a break.

I'm hoping for a great new adventure book from WOTC. I am not fond of settings books, but new adventure books hold the possibility of lots of hours of enjoyable playing.

Me too. Roll20 kept me sane through the pandemic, and I gamed more in past 2 years than I ever did in person. I don't even want to go back to face to face; I prefer now the ease of endless maps and minis at my fingertips, and no driving anywhere. My Margreve campaign has 200+ maps in the page queue, and the PCs are only 6th level. I haven't used every single one, but most of them were. If I did face to face stuff in the future - if the effing pandemic ever ends - it would be cooperative board games.

As for 2022, I'm not very interested in what WotC has to offer unless it is a campaign/adventure for Dark Sun or Spelljammer or Planescape.

We know of two thus far:

1. Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse
2. Critical Role: Call From the Neverdeep

There will be at least 2 setting books in 2022, as well, but we don't know what they are.

  • Stolen from another thread.

There was also mention that there would be a "cameo" for another classic Setting, whatever counts as a cameo...

It is Netherdeep, not Neverdeep. I guess he never fixed his typo.

And neither counts anyway. The first is just a delayed book that was supposed to release at the beginning of this month and the second is only being published by WotC, and is an "extra" in the schedule in the same way the last Critical Role book and the Acquisitions Inc book were.

So we know zero books for 2022 that were planned and written by WotC for release in the new year.

Check out the left-hand column of ENworld's home page for a good summary of confirmed and semi-confirmed items.

2. Critical Role: Call From the Neverdeep
Correction: Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep.

Looking forward to wrapping up my Wildemount campaign (started in April of 2020 and have 5-7 sessions remaining) and then starting a Sigil campaign in my highly homebrewed take on the City of Doors (traditional Sigil is just one of 9 distinct districts in my homebrew, others of which include the District of Tomorrow and Fantasy District). And while my 3ed Manual of the Planes is still useful for that, I'm hoping for some gonzo 5e support (Spelljammer, Planescape, or even just an updated outer planes guard) to rip stuff from and be inspired by.
