What is a DM, and what is a ceramic one?

Well, obviously I know what a DM is, but what's this competetion thing? I've looked through the thread, and it left me more confused than a umber hulk's optometrist.

A whole lot of unconnected-yet-amusing pics... do you have to put together and adventure from them? Is there a masterthread or site I should know about?


(and I've learned from my mistake and googled it! A load of composite material and magnetics wesites enlightened me as much as a grimlock with a spotlight).

well, there used ot be a thing called iron chef.

in iron chef folks got the same ingredients and cooked, best chef won.

then someone (nemmerrelle?) started iron dm. given different ingredients 2 dm's write an adventure, best one wins.

i started ceramic dm (ceramic was just a choice, i am a potter) based on illustrations.

the idea is to assume you are writing an adventure or story, but the publisher has already provided the illustrations. (rather than having your story illustrated)

best story wins. single elimination tournament. 3 judges, lots of silliness.

Ha! I never paid close attention to the threads but I had always just assumed that 'ceramic dm' was for d20 modern... I'm not exactly sure why I decided to associate ceramic with modern though.
