If you're wanting munchkin advice, it's simple...multiclass Cleric!
If, however, you want to really play, just have fun and think on your feet!
I have played a rogue in an undead heavy campaign, a druid in an underground city (with no plants or wildlife) being fought over by dwarves and goblins, and I have played a Bard in a campaign where we were being hunted and had to keep a low profile! All with the same GM (no, he's not out to get me).
Even though all were certainly less than ideal conditions for my character class, they were fun nonetheless. Life doesn't always put us in situations for which we are ideally suited. In other words, (cliche time!) "When life hands you lemons...make lemonade"!!
Actually, I think those were actually more fun because I had to find different ways to be helpful (I always manage!
).
Don't let the rules and classes "pigeonhole" your character. Think outside the box (O.K. another bad cliche), and let your imagination be your weapon!!!
