What is Desert of Desolation and what to expect for figures?

Trappers were a classically-improbable 1E monster...basically, a living floor that would wrap up and constrict anyone who stepped on it. They were closely related to Lurkers Above, which were pretty much the same thing in ceiling form. My guess here (it's been 20 years since I played the Desert of Desolation series) is that it's a desert variant.

Dwarven dervishes? :D

Hey! I LIKE the trappers and the lurkers above! But somehow I thought there should been more modules written where the party found dead ones ... starvation seemed a more common form of demise for these things than adventurers. :\

I'm running my characters through these now. This is the same group I ran through the Isle of Dread just before Paizo announced the Savage Tide. I am apparently cursed by the Gaming God of Nostalgia.

I've got the originals in comic book sleeves. I ran them in AD&D and then ran them again some time later in GURPS. I was considering running them again in 3.5. A revamp for 3.5 would be way cool.

Indeed...lump them in with piercers, mimics, cloakers, and lord knows what else, as creatures that have evolved / been created solely to devour adventurers in dungeons.

What was the name of the big steamroller type thing that rolled over everything? It made a reappearance in MM3 I think.

That is something that i'd like to get.

Don't forget the Shadow Demon hiding in the well in the first adventure. I love me some Shadow Demon, and it was his first published outing ;)

Camels
Dire Rats
Purple worm
Thunder herder
Sandman
Ghoul
Wight
Wraith
'Sand Trapper' (?) ('Dust Digger' is what I was thinking of.)
Dervish
Dervish Cleric
Efretti
Androsphinx
Trapper
'Death From Above' (?) ('Lurker Above' is the monster I had in mind. Thanks kenobi65)
Mimic
Minotaur
Bodak
Mummy
Clay Golem
Shadow
Footpad
Rogue
Mounted Pegasi
Desert Nomads
Large Monstrous Spider
Large Monstrous Scorpion

okay- generally a set has 8-15 figures based on the set "theme". Also they mix it up with mounted and redos now.

So.... a guestimation would be.....

We have not had a Dervish in a while. An Androspinx would be nice but I can see a regular Sphinx too. Bodak would be nice. A mummy is a definite pick. Maybe for fun a vermin lord?
Perhaps a new Clay Golem. A mounted Pegasi would be really nice. Desert Nomads I can see as our generic basic warrior types. A new Large Spider would be nice. Lg Scorpion would also be nice but I would like a scorpion swarm more.

Shadow Demon.... maybe.

I think he's in the second adventure, actually. :D
